ITE—A Community of Transportation Professionals (ITE) works to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users, helping to build smart and livable communities.
Founded in 1930, ITE is a volunteer-driven association of more than 18,000 engineers, planners, consultants, educators, researchers, technologists, and students working in more than 78 countries.
ITE University of Victoria Student Chapter (UVic ITE) is a student community who are interested in exploring or aspiring to be future transportation professionals. We are affiliated with the ITE Vancouver Island Section and ITE Canada District. We provide opportunities for learning and networking, including connection to the local, regional, national, and international community of transportation professionals.
UVic ITE was formed in May 2022 after recognizing a strong interest at UVic for transportation, particularly as it relates to sustainability. This Chapter serves to promote and foster interest in transportation engineering, planning and policy within the UVic community, connecting students to the profession and ITE. Through competent speakers and other activities such as site tours, industry events, social events and workshops, the chapter hopes to acquaint students with transportation topics, foster professional spirit, and connect students by common interests. The Chapter also stands to promote the expansion of transportation-related education at UVic.
