University of British Columbia (UBC)

ITE—A Community of Transportation Professionals (ITE) works to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users, helping to build smart and livable communities.

Founded in 1930, ITE is a volunteer-driven association of more than 18,000 engineers, planners, consultants, educators, researchers, technologists, and students working in more than 78 countries.

ITE University of British Columbia Student Chapter (UBC ITE) is a student community who are interested in exploring or aspiring to be future transportation professionals. We are affiliated with the ITE Greater Vancouver Section and ITE Canada District. We provide opportunities for learning and networking, including connection to the local, regional, national, and international community of transportation professionals.

The objective of the UBC ITE Student Chapter is to bring the industry closer to transportation engineering students so they get a sense of what to expect when they step out to practice their profession. The field of Transportation Engineering is exciting as it is rapidly developing. More and more students are attracted to the transportation sector because it offers more opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students alike. There are a series of activities that will be hosted by UBC throughout the year such as guest lectures, workshops that are tailored to cater for the needs of graduates of transportation engineering and the traditional UBC Industry Night.
