Who We Are
The ITE McMaster University Student Chapter (ITE McMaster) is a vibrant student-led community for those interested in transportation engineering, planning, and mobility-related fields. Affiliated with the ITE Hamilton Section and ITE Canada District, the chapter serves as a bridge between students and the broader transportation profession at the local, regional, national, and international levels.
About ITE
The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is an international community of transportation professionals dedicated to advancing mobility, safety, and sustainability for all transportation system users. Through collaboration, innovation, and professional development, ITE helps create smarter, safer, and more livable communities worldwide.
Founded in 1930, ITE is a volunteer-led association representing more than 18,000 transportation professionals, including engineers, planners, consultants, educators, researchers, technologists, and students across more than 78 countries.
What We Do
Since its establishment in 2016, ITE McMaster has been committed to promoting transportation engineering and mobility-related careers across the McMaster University community. Through technical workshops, industry presentations, networking events, site visits, and professional development opportunities, the chapter connects students with industry leaders and emerging trends in transportation.
Our Mission
Our mission is to inspire the next generation of transportation professionals by fostering learning, leadership, and meaningful industry engagement. By providing access to technical resources, hands-on experiences, and a strong professional network, ITE McMaster empowers students to develop the skills and knowledge needed to shape the future of transportation.
