Our Transportation Department is looking for a regular full-time Traffic Technologist to join the team. You will provide technical input and support on matters relating to Transportation Engineering work, including planning, coordinating, reviewing and designing detailed construction and traffic management plans, parking management, boulevard management, signing and pavement marking design, safety assessments, data collection and analysis, public engagement, etc. Other duties include coordinating with external agencies, contractors and DNV Operations, supervising a small group of technical employees when necessary, and the delivery of transportation-related projects.
The successful applicant will possess:
Qualifications
You will have graduated from a diploma program from a recognized institute of technology in Civil Engineering Technology, plus have sound related experience, preferably as a Traffic Technician; certification or eligibility for certification as an ASTTBC AScT preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Engineers In Training may be considered for this position. Proficiency in the use of Excel and other standard office software is essential, and experience with AutoCAD would be considered an asset. A valid B.C. Driver’s Licence is also required.

Salary: The pay range for this unionized position is $44.22 to $52.21 per hour (2024 rates)
Hours of Work: 35-hour work week (Compressed work schedule available)
